INK KesselsKramer Publishing & HappyPets Release Limited Edition Short Story Collection. KesselsKramer Publishing has just released INK, a collection of new short fiction. Initiated by creatives at KesselsKramer and made in collaboration with HappyPets, the book’s theme is tattoos and people’s often unusual motivations for getting them. It was prompted by the observation that having oneself tattooed is one of the more extreme decisions people can make in day-to-day life. After all, tattoos are permanent post-it notes etched into our skin. An exploration of the choices behind such a decision seemed like an interesting and challenging exercise. Each story takes a different tattoo as its starting point and uses that tattoo as a lynchpin for a sometimes true-ish, sometimes completely fanciful work. The stories are wildly diverse, featuring drug-fuelled trips to Thailand, heartbreak in a Tsunami, a day in the worst neighbourhood America has to offer, Scottish teenagers running amuck and the world’s most precise tattoo artist. The stories are authored by writers from KesselsKramer itself, as well as promising new voices from around the planet. Each story has inspired a special one-off illustration by renowned Swiss designers HappyPets. In order to do these images justice, INK appears in a special large format in a limited and numbered edition of 250.
